
Al Masaood is one of Abu Dhabi’s oldest trading families, founded by a lineage of successful merchants in the UAE and the Arabian Gulf over five decades ago.
From its inception, Al Masaood has been a contributor to Abu Dhabi's commercial development. The late Ahmed Al Masaood was the first president of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, with the company becoming the first to be registered by the Chamber in 1970.
In the same year, Al Masaood in partnership with British firm John Brown Engineering introduced the first gas turbine to Abu Dhabi and the Middle East. Later the Group collaborated with Weir Westgarth to build the UAE's first desalination plant.
The automotive arm has become a significant part of the Al Masaood legacy, particularly through its 40-year partnership with Nissan (previously known as Datsun).

Al Masaood also brought home other global brands like Bridgestone, INFINITI, Renault, mtu, and Volvo Penta, establishing their presence in Abu Dhabi.
H.E Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood became Chairman of the Group in March 2017, succeeding the late Abdulla Al Masaood who had spearheaded Al Masaood’s principalship of global auto brand Nissan in the capital. Today, Nissan has become a dominant mass market car brand in Abu Dhabi.
